Chennai – Senior advocate and veteran politician K.S. Radhakrishnan has made a statement. In it, in the name of condemning the AIADMK-BJP alliance, Lok Sabha DMK M.P., Kanimozhi says that AIADMK has betrayed Tamil Nadu.
Kanimozhi appears to be too much concerned about AIADMK. She used to dramatically shake her head and say that there are more and more young widows in Tamil Nadu. Where have all those widows disappeared now under your brother’s rule?
This same Kanimozhi, who now jokingly taunts the BJP referring to them as “foreign puppets,” should recall that her father Karunanidhi was the first to join hands with the BJP in Tamil Nadu. Was it not treachery then? When Karunanidhi was arrested during the dead of night, it was the BJP-backed central government that intervened forcefully and had him released from then CM Jayalalithaa. Did not Hindutva attract your attention then?
Mrs. Kanimozhi! When you completed your second term as MP, when BJP was in power, you were provided with a bungalow-type house in Delhi despite not conforming to rules. Was BJP sweet at that time? Don’t you remember that Arun Jaitley assisted you? Even Vaiko received his own bungalow on his sixth term. And you are talking now, having forgotten everything.
You often talk as if you and your family alone are the protectors of Tamil. But do you even know what Modi has done for Tamil?
* He established a Tamil Chair at the University of Houston in the USA.
* He gave the traditional Tamil martial art Silambam national recognition.
* He installed the Tamil “Sengol” in the newly built Parliament building.
* He set up the Kashi Tamil Sangamam and a Tamil Chair at Banaras Hindu University.
* He praises Tamil as a respected Indian national language wherever he goes.
* He established the Saurashtra Tamil Sangam in Gujarat.
* He included Silambam in the Khelo India national games.
* He initiated a Classical Tamil Research Center at Houston University.
* He facilitated the translation of Thirukkural into 63 languages.
* Bharathiyar’s songs were translated into all Indian languages.
* He approved the use of Tamil in IAS, IPS exams.
* Now, even CRPF exams can be written in Tamil.
* He reformed the education system in NDA-ruled states to translate medical and engineering syllabi into native languages.
But when PM Modi asked repeatedly to translate the syllabus for medicine and engineering into Tamil, your brother, CM Stalin, refused to cooperate. So what has the DMK government done for Tamil? You’ve only used Tamil to grow politically.
You all conduct yourselves as if you alone own Tamil. But you establish schools where even Hindi is taught, and Tamil is not mandatory—not even in your brother’s daughter’s institution. What has DMK actually done for Tamil? You need to tell the public this. In fact, you’ve introduced counterfeit literary books and referred to them as Tamil literature.

Worse still, Congress and DMK betrayed the Eelam Tamils, and their massacre took place because of that. In the name of peace talks, they deployed troops and spent Indian money uselessly. They sold off Katchatheevu, and were unable to find a solution to the Cauvery and Mullai river water conflicts. In comparison to all these, how has the AIADMK-BJP combine betrayed Tamil Nadu?
In politics, any party can form an alliance with another. Where is the betrayal there? BJP has a rightful political presence in Tamil Nadu. Mrs. Kanimozhi, don’t you remember that your father formed an alliance with BJP while still denouncing them as “foreigners.” So, when you form an alliance, it’s an alliance, but when others form an alliance, it’s betrayal?
It was under BJP’s tenure that Murasoli Maran, who did not even have a portfolio, became a minister and traveled to the U.S. for treatment. When he died, PM Vajpayee himself attended the cremation at Besant Nagar. Did you forget that? The very next day, you conveniently ran back to the Congress alliance.
Then you enacted drama for the Eelam Tamils, defected from Congress alliance, and came back. You joined the one who brought death to 1,50,000 innocent Eelam Tamils and governed successfully. So how come DMK, after all these, accuse Edappadi Palaniswami?
Edappadi Palaniswami, who was born in a farmer family, did not become powerful by dynasty politics like you. He rose to power as a common man and now heads MGR’s AIADMK. He is the next CM of Tamil Nadu. He will topple Stalin’s anti-people government. That is the voice of Tamil Nadu. That is the voice of God.
You, your brother, and his son, all became powerful without climbing any steps—just took the elevator straight to the top. Meanwhile, grassroots workers who went to jail for the party are now wandering around abandoned. Ironically, ex-AIADMK members are now ministers in Stalin’s DMK. This is the arrogance and overconfidence you have—that money can purchase you any seat, any position, any time.” Thus he said.
